Video Address

Be Serious!

So what does a poorly taped video, a bunch of black posters, and this quickly-slammed-together blog all have in common? That I have way too much free time on my hands? No, although I’m sure that’s part of it. Actually, all this work is a fun homage to my love of political media and perhaps the subconscious yearnings of a possible Political Science/ Communications double major, although I’m not ready to be committed to PARC just yet. Also, I think it’s good for a candidate to use a little humor- it shows that they don’t take themselves too seriously and at the end of the day, realize that being elected the President of Chapin doesn’t matter that much in the long run.

Regardless of all the media glitz, there isn’t much more that I can say about my campaign. I want to be Chapin’s President because I love it here and I believe I can continue to keep this place a great place to live. I love how each member of our dorm brings their own flavor, allowing the people to define what Chapin is instead of having the dorm define who the people are like some of the other residential colleges. I think I can be a good steward of this place and make some changes for the good, which is what I believe a president should do.

I hope you’ve enjoyed the humor and I look forward to celebrating with the new Exec board with all of you come Sunday night, whether either me or either one of my very capable friends are elected.

Sincerely,

Robert Gardner
